Sharp eyes, sharp beak, and extremely sharp talons make this guy a dangerous predator. Anyone who wonders why I supervise my tiny 4 pound pup so closely when she is outdoors, only needs to meet this guy once to understand just how serious a threat this red-tailed hawk is.
Sharp
Sharp focus indeed!
That gaze can freeze anybody.
That’s not an everyday capture. How cool!
We actually see them fairly often, although not usually quite so close. I think they are less cautious during the spring because they are feeding babies. Take a look: http://www.libertyhillhouse.com/2012/10/31/raptor-run-in/
Awesome shots! Thanks for sharing! :)
What a gorgeous shot. Like I can reach out and touch it – not that I would want too. That guy would love one of our chickens I am sure. :)
Thats one awesome photo! How did you get one so close! Its like he even really pose for you. So majestic!
He simply isn’t spooked by us anymore. It is great for photos – not so great for the little critters in my yard.
That is an impressive bird, and beautiful photo!
Wow. What a great picture.
The eyes are soooo intent, aren’t they?
such beautiful creature…..but yes, I could see how it might pose a threat to little critters and small dogs.
