Can we put our toes in the water mom?
We all knows what happens next. First the toes, then one child slips and their pants get wet, and all manner of giggling ensues. Then, “somehow” the slippery slope claims each and every child, soaking them all the way up to the roots of their hair.
It’s never just the toes that get wet.
I couldn’t help but think of how similar their experience is to my own. I never intend to drown in bad decisions, it is “just” one little (insert innocent sounding bad idea here) that leads to another.
Now, just to be clear, I completely expected my kids to get wet and brought along extra clothes knowing that to be the case – Aren’t you glad our heavenly father knows when we will slip too? He keeps the towels ready to dry us off and send us back on our way.
“He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” 2Cor 12:9
Grace is awesome!
Sheryl, that was beautiful! I actually have tears streaming down my cheeks right now! Thanks for the reminder! I really need that this morning.
