There’s something about the colors of fall that makes me happy.
We have an autumn bucket list of sorts going this year: trying to check all the boxes of possible fun before the snow starts to fly (and according to the weather forecaster, that may be this weekend, before we even hit peak foliage *sigh). Looking for some fun ideas of your own? See how many you can check off too!
Pyro-maniac’s Bonfire list:
- Start a bonfire with flint & steel
- Warm up doughnut holes on sticks over the fire. Yum!
- Make Colored flame pinecones
- Fly Sky lanterns (affiliate link – thank you for your support)
Little one’s Art projects:
- Leaf chromatography – place a leaf on a coffee filter and rub hard. Dip in alcohol and watch it change color. Try with many different colored leaves. Cut into strips and staple into an autumn chain.
- Cut out leaf shapes to use for next month’s thankfulness tree
- Sculpt a leaf-shaped bowl
Big girl’s Cooking plans:
- Pick apples & pumpkins and bake lots of pies
- Make caramel apples (we’ve never made these before)
- Learn to make cornbread & chili without help from mom
Momma’s priorities:
- Sit outside on a crisp morning with hot apple cider
- Listen to Vivaldi’s Autumn from The Four Seasons
- Try geocaching
